Marksman Tours was founded by Anne Mark in 1990, when she  qualified as a Professional Blue Badge Guide.  Her many years in this business have given her the knowledge and practical experience of knowing “what will work” for her clients.  She takes great pride in the totally personalized service provided to agents and clients. Her  speciality is ensuring that clients have a relaxed and enjoyable time, whilst their private sightseeing tours in Britain are organized and run with a customized itinerary.

Trip Planning
Advice on best use of time available, whether for a half day or a 2 week tour, Marksman will work with you to design all or part of a customized vacation for you.

Your guide
Anne Mark endeavours to personally guide as many tours as possible. If however, due to prior bookings, this is not possible, then we would check that you are happy to be looked after by another excellent and appropriate guide from the Marksman Tours network.  All the guides we work with are hand picked from amongst the pool of fully trained, examined and qualified Blue Badge Guides. Not only are they all members of the Institute of Tourist Guiding, but, even more importantly, they are all delightful companions. They have those indefinable qualities of personality and character that make all the difference for your trip. Knowledgeable in history, culture and art, professional and experienced, but most of all agreeable companions, that is the hallmark of a Marksman Tours guide.

Other Languages
Private guides with their own vehicles who speak the following languages can be booked:
Dutch – Cantonese – Catalan – French – German – Italian – Japanese – Mandarin – Polish – Portuguese – Spanish – Russian – Thai

Cars/Mini-vans
Guides are all self-employed and run their own vehicles including sedans, station-wagons and mini-vans.  They are all air-conditioned and maintained in tip-top condition.

Insurance and Permits
Marksman Tours holds Operating Centre Licence No. 739 issued by the Public Carriage Office, London.

It is a legal requirement for any company or individual driver-guide operating in the UK who accepts a booking from a member of the public or a travel agent/tour operator to be a licensed operator. All guides working with Marksman Tours have the required licenses as well as appropriate public liability insurance and private hire insurance for their vehicles.

You or your agent should arrange holiday cancellation, medical and other travel insurances before you leave home on your vacation.
